Collective for Youth is Included in the City of Omaha Annual Budget

For the first time since the inception of Collective for Youth, there is a line item supporting CFY in the City of Omaha budget! Omaha Council Member Danny Begley proposed an amendment to the 2023 City of Omaha budget to include Collective for Youth. During the council meeting on September 13th, Executive Director, Megan Addison was asked to speak about Collective for Youth’s longstanding service to the community.
The amendment was approved by all seven city council representatives. Begley said, ” I have seen firsthand the impact that out of school programs have on this community.” He went on to end his comments to say, “We need places that will support families to address the gaps during afterschool. Places that provide the opportunity for students to be safe, have a meal, receive tutoring, and have new experiences”.
